Your Sage Line 50 program has the ability to handle currency transactions in euro. The Currency option from the Settings menu now contains additional fields to store euro information. These fields are:

Not all businesses run a twelve-month financial year. You can now use the Change Financial Year facility to extend or shorten your financial year.

If you have a lot of accounting data in your Sage Line 50 program, it may take a long time to find the transaction that you need. Now there are two types of search facility to help you access your data quickly and easily.
The Global Search facility is available throughout Sage Line 50, and can be defined for customers, suppliers, nominal accounts and product records, as well as invoices and sales and purchase orders. You can even set up and save a search that you use frequently, so that you can use it again later.
Use the ActiveSearch to speed up data entry. The ActiveSearch works by finding the closest matches to what you are typing and displaying them in a popup list for you to select from. There are two types of ActiveSearch; the Reference and Recent Items popup list. The Reference popup list finds the closest match as you begin typing a word. The Recent Items list remembers the last 32 entries made in that field or list.

You can now apply changes to cost prices, sales prices and discounts by both stock code and by category.

The Customers option has been enhanced to include Credit Control, Contact Management, On-line Capabilities, Disputed items and Credit Charge facilities. For more information search for the topic in this help system.

Why send a separate invoice for a stock item and a service your company provides to the same customer? Sage Line 50 allows you to send a single invoice for both, saving your business time and money.
(Accountant Plus and Financial Controller users only) Use æspecial stock codesÆ for one-off items or custom-made articles to create æfree-formatÆ product invoices, product credit notes, sales orders and purchase orders.

Sage Line 50 lets you keep a record of all the products you sell.
To work with your products, choose the Products option from the Sage Line 50 toolbar.

The new Sales Order Fulfilment option allows you to generate a purchase order from outstanding sales orders that cannot be created from existing stock levels. This feature is essential for any company that holds a limited amount of stock, or for businesses that work using a æJust-In-TimeÆ ordering schedule.

You can now create asset records and record no depreciation rate. Assets with a zero-depreciation rate will not fall in value when the Month End procedure is run.
(Financial Controller users only) Asset disposal has also been made even easier. The fixed asset disposal procedure has now been automated as a wizard routine to make the entire process quicker. The routine uses details from the Fixed Asset record meaning that there is less chance of making an error.

Use the Task Manager option to:
Set up a list of tasks that you need to do and view any tasks that are due, overdue or completed.
List the people you need to contact today and in the future and view any contacts that are overdue or have been completed.
Record any bills you receive and view bills that are due for payment, overdue or paid.
Find out how much your customers owe you and how much you owe your suppliers.
Find out the account status of your customers and suppliers. For example, you can see at a glance which accounts are æon holdÆ, over the credit limit, inactive etc.
View the recurring entries you have set up in Sage Line 50.
View the status of your invoices, sales orders and purchase orders.
View your stock to see items that are out of stock, below reorder level, on order or allocated.

Using the Windows operating system also allows improved integration with other Sage products, including the new Sage e-commerce suite of products.
Sage Line 50Æs help system has also been vastly improved. Both the Contents and Search facility has been reworked and more information has been included to help you find the information you need.

With the advent of global communications and the move towards the æelectronic integrationÆ of companies, Sage Line 50 has introduced new e-banking features into Sage Line 50. These new features allow you to electronically reconcile your actual bank statement against the bank statement in Sage Line 50 and analyse transactions in your bank account against the transactions in your Sage accounting program.
